We have a special event coming up. On Tuesday, May 12, we are hosting a fundraiser. It is for the Rockwood Common Tool Library.
This group does amazing work in our neighborhood. They help people borrow tools for free. They have over 1,000 tools for home repairs and gardening. They also teach skills like sewing and fixing electronics. Their goal is to help us all be more self-reliant. They also want to reduce waste in our community.
Right now, they are opening a new place. It is called the Rockwood Repair and Reuse Center. It will be on SE Stark Street (next to Taco Bell and Parr Lumber). This new center will have more space for tools. It will also host classes for kids and adults. They even have a program where youth learn to fix things and explore new careers.
We want to help them reach their goal. On May 12, we will donate 20 percent of all our walk-in/phone-in sales to this project. When you eat with us, you are supporting local neighbors. You are helping kids learn new skills. You are also keeping items out of the landfill.
